KCR Featured in ABC Diane Sawyer World News Hip Recall Story
February 14, 2011
Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff's Stuart Talley was quoted in ABC World News Report today regarding the DePuy Hip Recall. Katie Korgaokar first received her DePuy implant when she was only 36 years old. Korgaokar initially showed great improvements from her new hip device, but it wasn't long before problems arose.
Just five years later, Ms. Korgaokar has undergone a revision surgery. She spoke at length to ABC News regarding the FDA's regulatory procedures, questioning how a faulty device could have been approved for use so quickly. Our firm filed suit on her behalf last week in a supreme court in San Francisco.
"She shouldn't have had to go through a second operation so soon," said Korgaokar's lawyer, Stuart Talley. "In her lifetime, she will have had to undergo an operation that she shouldn't have had."
To read more about Ms. Korgaokar's story, visit the ABC News website and watch the video that will be aired tonight on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer.
