KCR Named Lead Counsel in Health Net Privacy Breach Lawsuit

On July 15, 2011, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California named Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff's Brooks Cutter to lead counsel for Case No. 2:11-CV-00910, Dwight Whitaker v. Health Net of California, Inc.

Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff filed suit against Health Net in April of 2011 for a privacy breach that leaked the private medical information of nearly 2 million Health Net customers. The nationwide class action was filed on behalf of all Health Net members' whose private information was compromised under California Civil Code section 56, which provides a $1,000 remedy for each person whose privacy was compromised.
