WHISTLEBLOWER LAWSUITS

The False Claims Act contains qui tam, or whistleblower, provisions that allow citizens to sue government contractors and programs that are committing fraud against the U.S. government. Fraudulent activity through government programs and contracted projects costs the federal government, and taxpayers, billions of dollars each year. The whistleblower who brings a qui tam lawsuit is entitled to a percentage of the money the government recovers.

Some of the most common types of fraud against the government include:

  • False billing and delivery of substandard products or services
  • Medicaid and Medicare fraud such as billing for services and supplies not provided or over-billing by hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, pharmacies, home health care agencies, laboratories
  • Nursing home fraud such as billing for inappropriate services or undelivered services, over-billing for services or supplies
  • Inflated bills or bills for substandard products from defense contractors or subcontractors
  • False statements on labor, environmental, anti-kickback, or competitive bidding compliance

If you have evidence of fraud being committed against the federal government, please contact the trial lawyers at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff at 888-285-3333. They will explain your whistleblower rights and help you file your claim with the U.S. government.
