Yaz Birth Control
Yaz and Yasmin, birth control pills manufactured by Pharmaceutical giant Bayer, have been tied to serious and potentially life-threatening conditions.
The pills contain ethinyl estradiol, which has traditionally been used in oral contraceptives, and a new type of progestin called "drospirenone," which has not been used in any other birth control pills approved in the United States. Drospirenone increases the risk of the following side effects:
- Strokes
- Heart attacks
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Cardiac Arrhythmias
- Gallbladder Disease
- Kidney Failure
- Sudden Death
Additionally, drospirenone may increase blood potassium levels and lead to "hyperkalemia" in high risk patients, a potentially fatal heart disrupting condition.
